Simon Katz best performed of family
Simon Katz, Saturday’s D.B. Dominion Handicap winner, is by far the best performed of an old North Otago and South Canterbury family. Bred by his Oamaru part-owner, Mr Peter Rae, who sold a half-share to his partner, Mr Stan Francis, for just $750 as a youngster, Simon Katz is from the Eagle Armbro
mare, Carly Tryax (lightly-raced maiden) whose dam, Kate Tryax (unraced), was by Hal Tryax from Gold Gift (lightly-raced for one win), by Gold Bar from Te Mona (unraced), by Travis Axworthy from Muri (lightly-raced maiden), by Denvor Huon, from an unamed mare by Prince Imperial.
