Horses stood down
Brutus Hanover and World of Fame were stood down until trialling twice to the satisfaction of the stipendiary stewards, and Mythical was made unruly for standing starts only, after two incidents in the Keighleys Handicap at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday.
It was found that Brutus Hanover broke at the start outside Mythical and ran in causing Richard Brosnan, the trainerdriver of Mythical, to take a hold of his horse. Mythical, which had galloped away, subsequently fell,
with the trailing runners, Aran Blaze and Henry Hoover, being badly checked, the latter unseating his driver. Noodlums Fella, which broke free of Interference in the Star Mobile Pace and Dynamic Beat, which broke free of interference with 800 m left in the Carthy Nissan Mobile Pace, have a trial on two occasions before the stewards before racing again. Hoosemedad, which made a bad beginning and took no part in the Meadow Mushrooms Pace, has to trial twice before racing again In a standing start race.
