Balciano, the easy winner of Monday’s Metropolitan Handicap (2600 m at Randwick, has been penalised two kilograms for the sAust627,ooo Foster’s Caulfield Cup (2400 m on Saturday week. The VATC handicapper, Mr Alan Wicks, announced the penalty yesterday. This means Balci-
ano will now carry 52.5 kg in the cup.
Balciano, a four-year-old entire by Balmerino, Is trained at Randwick by former top Sydney jockey, Neville Voigt, who won the 1983 MetropolltanCaulfield Cup double on Hayal. Peter Cook, who rode Balciano brilliantly in The Metropolitan, will again ride Balciano in the Caulfield Cup.
