Addington market Store stock prices fall
Prices for all store stock except top-quality cattle, fell at Addington market yesterday. A large gallery of buyers was faced with too many yearling cattle of mediocre quality. Prices dropped back about $5O, on tbe last store sale, to a more realistic level. Better-quality yearling steers reached about $430, while most other yearlings sold between $250 and $350. Adult and two-year cattle dropped about $3O to $4O In price. The few pens of topquality cattle on offer maintained last sale’s values. Few store sheep were
offered for sale, but prices fell, reflecting the drop for prime sheep at recent sales. Most pens of ewes and lambs made between $l4 and $l6 with one pen of Corriedale ewes reaching $27. The yarding contained about 770 sheep, 882 yearling cattie and 423 adult cattle.

Rhodes (Tikao), 7 Angus cross steers at $4OO, and 9 Angus cross heifers at $338; Hayes Brothers (Halkett), 10 Murray Grey heifers at $280; Mount Stewart Partnership (Waiau), 37 Angus crosss steers at $324 to $344; J. C. Hiatt (Cheviot), 13 Simmental cross steers at $400; Logan Shearer (Waiau), 22 Hereford steers at $326 to $348; M. J. Dalmer (Waiau), 8 Hereford steers at $350, and 6 Hereford heifers at $254; Pahau Reserve (Culverden), 7 Friesian cross steers at $3BO, and 27 Friesian cross heifers at $258 to $300; W. E. Haley (Port Levy), 17 Angus cross steers at $372 to $390; Dougal Robertson' (Woodend), 16 Angus cross heifers at $276.
