Condom sales up
PA Auckland Condom sales in New Zealand have doubled in the last two months, according to one of the firms which markets them. . Heavy advertising by the Health Department and the A.I.D.S. Foundation round A.I.D.S. Aware-
ness Week last month was one of the main factors behind the increase, said Smith and Nephew’s divisional manager, Mr Neil Harvey. The firm launched last month a condom containing a spermicidal drug which killed the A.1.D.5., virus in laboratory tests.
