Loader for London study

Former Mobil Song Quest winner, Linden Loader, will return to the classroom to take up a study course at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She will complete a one-year post graduate diploma in singing and plans to do a second post graduate course specialising in opera in 198889.

“I am looking forward to dedicating myself to studying after working as a sales person for three years and having to balance a ringing career and a full-time occupation,” she said recently. Ms Loader said that the Guildhall offers private tutoring. The individual instruction would help improve her singing skills and style.

“It is also a chance to meet people in the classical music field who are making decisions about who they are going to use in future musical productions,” she said. Ms Loader graduated from Victoria University with a Batchelor of Music degree, majoring in singing performance. She also holds a Certificate in Executant Music from the

Wellington Polytechnic. She won New Zealand’s top classical singing competition, the Mobil Song Quest, in 1981 while still a student

Ms Loader says she is still unsure which direction her singing will take her, in terms of what style she prefers.
