Charles and Mary (nee Gollop) Sampson left Plymouth in October, 1841, and arrived in New Plymouth in Febrtary, 1842, on the ship Timandra. They settled in the New Plymouth area and their children subsequently settled in the Waitara and other Taranaki areas. A major gap in his research concerns a greatuncle, Henry Morrison, of Alloa, Scotland, who went to New Zealand about 1900. He was born in 1876, the youngest son of John and Elizabeth
