Year’s work stolen
A University of Canterbury fine arts student has had a substantial amount of his year’s work stolen from iiis car. Mr Mark Braunias had a black leather bag removed from his green Morris Oxford car while it was parked at Nancy’s Hotel, in Riccarton last Thursday night. Inside the bag were two bound books containing more than 400 drawings and sketches, a substantial amount of Mr Braunias’ work for his final assessment. “It is not the kind of
thing which would mean much to anyone else. It just looks like a lot of doodles or cartoons,” he said. Mr Braunias, who is in his final year of study, said he was not concerned about the other valuables in the bag, such as his wallet of cheque book but would like to hear from anyone who might have found, or knows the whereabouts of, his drawings. Mr Braunias can be reached at the fine arts department of the University of Canterbury.
