Long N.Z. history
A-W.A.’s long New Zealand history spans seven decades.
During these years it has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of ground-to-air communication equipment and the company has achieved recognition in many countries as a prime supplier of high reliability V.H.F. and U.H.F. radio link systems.
Throughout the last 70 years A.W.A. has been a household name in quality radio and television products. The consumer electronics market is expanding and the sophistication of products is ever increasing. These factors impose on the manufacturer the need for stringent quality control and the exercise of professional standards throughout all phases of production. By continually satisfy-
ing these criteria, A.W.A. has enjoyed nearly 50 per cent of the New Zealand car radio and stereo market for more than 10 years. All the leading motor assembly plants have adopted A.W.A. products for their attractive design, wide choice of models and the professional manner in which the products are engineered into the automobile.
A.W.A. is the major sponsor for New Zealand’s international car rally each July. Now, when world attention is focused on the rally scene, the A.W.A. Clarion rally of New Zealand helps promote one of the company’s main consumer lines.
A wide range of televisions, video players and recorders, video cameras, record players, compact disc players, tape decks, tuners, am-
pliflers, speakers, portable radios are either manufactured locally under licence by A.W.A. or imported and distributed throughout New Zealand and Fiji. Besides these more domestic products, A.W.A. has a strong presence in the fields of: • Business systems with its HiFax facsmile equipment, high speed laser printers, dot matrix impact printers, spoolers, video* display terminals, communication terminals, key telephone systems, cellular mobile telephones and magnetic media.
• Mobile radio telephones plus marine and aviation communication systems and more recently the new cellular mobile telephones. • Components and instrumentation. • Scientific and medical systems.
