Mobile barrier practice

Two horses competing at today’s Addington trials will not be allowed to finish.
This unusual situation relates to the two-year-olds, Kenzo and Grampian, which will contest the CO pacers’ mobile event over 2600 m.
Neither is qualified and both are soon to be campaigned in the North Island, where they will be required to start from behind a mobile arm and must have trialled under such conditions. However, under the rules of trotting, no two-year-old is permitted to compete in a race or trial over more than 2100 m until January. Greg Hope (Kenzo) and Stewart Sutherland (Grampian) therefore have to "pull up” their representatives before the finish of the 2600 m trial.
The Wayne Rosstrained filly, Deborah Lobell, which is being set for the $21,000 Morrinsville Juvenile Stakes at Cambridge on Friday week, contested a CO trial behind the mobile last week at Ashburton.
