$18,000 Kaikoura Cup
By ALEX McMILLAN This year’s D.B. Kaikoura Cup, to be run on Monday, November 2, will carry a stake of $lB,OOO, an increase of $3OOO on last year. This is the most significant increase announced by the Kaikoura Trotting Club for its annual meeting, with total stakes increasing by $5BOO from $56,600 to $62,400.
Stakes for supporting races at the meeting, with last year’s stake in parentheses, are: CO, $4200 ($4000); Cl, $4700 ($4300); C2, $5500 ($5000); and the Noodlum Three-Year-Old Stakes, $B5OO ($8000).
It has been decided that all events will have standing starts this year.
