Greyhounds Three runners for Ray Adcock
The Weedons-trainer, Ray Adcock, will have a strong representation in the» Christchurch Greyhound Owners Trainers and Breeders’ Association Maiden Final to be run on Monday, September 21, with three runners, after eight qualifying heats were run at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Monday evening. The brindle bitch, Wingatui Rose, was the most impressive of all the qualifiers when she recorded 34ozs for the 560 m, which was easily the fastest time of the evening. The daughter of Spanish Bijou—Sirod Dreamer led
throughout, and won unchallenged by five lengths. Wild Irishman made no race of it in the fifth heat when he opened up a large break over his rivals to win by six lengths. Although Tasman Crossing was expected to be prominent, the handsome black. dog missed the jump and had no chance of catching; the winner which recorded 34.315.
Ray Adcock’s third qualifier was Wings and Bolts which recorded the, slowest time of the eight heats, 36.085. The brindle dog had to change direction several times durinf
the running and did well to win considering the interference during the running.
