Test bans lifted
PA Sydney The Australian Rugby Union yesterday bowed to pressure and lifted the 12monh test bans it had imposed on the former Wallaby captains, David Codey and Andrew Slack. The two were banned last month for their role in at-
tempting to arrange a rebel Australian tour of South Africa. The Australian Rugby Football Union executive agreed to end the bans today, following protests from the New South Wales and Queensland unions and leading players against the severity of the punishment.
