Auckland T.C. president
PA Auckland The new president of the Auckland Trotting Club is Noel Taylor, who scored a landslide victory over Max Harvey at the club’s annual meeting on Thursday. Taylor won the support of the club’s 1160 members who cast votes by 849 to Harvey’s 296. Harvey was gracious in defeat, but felt his campaign for presidency was needed to inform members of the costs involved in the building of a new stand. The voting for the vicepresidency was closer. Terry Quinn beat Cliff Koefoed by 673 votes to 468. The committee’s decision to return the Auckland Cup to 3200 metres was greeted with applause by members.
