Ministry seeks women’s views
PA Wellington Women throughout New Zealand have been asked to telephone the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Royal Commission on social policy this month to say what they think would constitute a fair society. The two organisations are combining to offer a free telephone service from September 15 to 17 so that New Zealand women can give their ideas on what the future of the New Zealand society should be. An intensive publicity campaign will lead up to
the three days during which Ministry staff and the Royal Commissioners, Ms Ann Ballin, Ms Rosslyn Noonan and Mrs Marion Bruce, will staff the free-phones. The Royal Commission, led by Sir Ivor Richardson, is gathering opinions on the future shape of society. It has already made one national tour to collect submissions and will set off on another in October.
It is due to report on its findings to the GovernorGeneral, Sir Paul Reeves, in September next year.
