Armed police called out
The Christchurch police armed offenders squad was called out to a motel in Spreydon about 6 p.m. yesterday after a man was reported to have produced a rifle during a domestic incident. The man apparently produced the rifle during an argument over custody
of a child. No shot was fired but by the time the police arrived at the unit, near Howard Place, the , man had left and was believed to be carrying the rifle. The police consider him dangerous and were still searching for him early this morning.
