A patient of Ward 8 of Christchurch Hospital, Mrs Nancy McMillan, of Southbridge, is served a mid-winter Christmas dinner by Mrs Dot Fleming, yesterday: Patients were treated to the unseasonal fare, served by food services staff dressed in Victorian maids’ costumes, to mark the hospital’s 125th anniversary. The celebrations continue today. Rabbit broth will be one item on a Victorian menu. The anniversary cake, made by a staff member, will be cut on Friday.
