Counties postpone meeting
PA Wellington The Counties Racing Club’s meeting scheduled for Pukekohe yesterday has been postponed until next Tuesday. New fields will be taken for the meeting. Heavy rain caused the meeting to be called off, said the club’s secretary, Des Friedrich. “We have had torrential downpours since three o’clock this morning. There is water everywhere,” Mr Friedrich said yesterday morning. “It would be irresponsible of us to make the jockeys ride in the conditions. It would be very hazardous.”
