Stronger flows of oil, gas

PA Wellington Preliminary results of the second drill stem test at the Kupe South 2 well have produced stronger flows of oil and gas. The well is sited about 1.75 km north of the Kupe South 1 gas and condensate oil discovery off the south Taranaki coast TCPL Resources, Ltd, on behalf of the joint venture group reported that the second test was carried out over the intervals 3144 to 3150 m and 3151.5 to 3154.5 m. Preliminary results indicate a stabilised flow of about 640 barrels of liquid a day and an associated 980,000 cubic feet a day of gas through a 1/2 inch choke at a wellhead pressure of 465 psig. The liquid is described as a 43 degree API oil, no water detected, with a high waxy content and gas condensate detected.
