Car minus steering wheel
PA Hastings A car with no steering wheel and only a pair of vice-grips to steer the vehicle has been written off the road by Hastings traffic officers. The Mark HI Zephyr was found after a member of the public reported the car was being driven with no steering wheel. Senior Traffic Sergeant,
Jim McQuinlan said the driver was issued with a ticket for using a defective vehicle. The ’incident showed “the sort of problem traffic;. officers were ,up against”.in eftorts to promote road safety. , - “It would never, occur to the average thinking person to do, something like that,” he said.
