Six applicants for grants

Only six applications for the Distant Job Search and Mobility Assistance Grants have been received by the Labour Department’s Christchurch Employment Service in High Street since it was introduced in January.

The branch manager, Mr Murray Smith, said that only three of the six applications had been successful. Two received the Mobility Assistance Grant and. the other was for the Dist»f Job Search Grant.

The department’s satellite offices may have received more applications, he said.
