The Acting Leader of the House, Mr Hunt, then moved that urgency be accorded the remaining stages of the Labour Relations Bill, the Economic Stabilisation Act Repeal Bill, the Video Recordings Bill, the Noise Control Amendment Bill and the Industry Safeguards Bill, and the introduction of Government bills. Urgency was accorded after a 42-24 division.

Members then began debating the second reading of the Labour Relations Bill. The debate was interrupted when the House adjourned for dinner at 5.30 p.m. The debate continued when the House resumed after dinner at 7.30 p.m. The bill was given a second reading after a 41-26 division.
