The controversial Kiwi rugby league XIII -was beaten, 52-24, by aBARLA President’s XIII in a charity match in aid of the Dave O’Connor appeal fund at Bradford yesterday. The English Rugby Union barred five rugby

The match was crowned by the flying wing, Peter Lewis, who notched a hat-trick of tries for the President’s
O’Connor, the Great Britain amateur rugby league forward, who was paralysed after breaking his neck while playing in an international in France last month, was described as “poorly” in Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, northern England. <
