Mr George L. Pearson, who has been appointed president and chief executive of Fletcher Challenge, Ltd’s Canadian subsidiary, Crown Forest Industries, Ltd. He joined Crown in 1954. After holding several positions with Crown Zellerbach Canada he was appointed senior vicepresident, timber and wood products, Crown Zellerbach Corporation in San Francisco, in 1981. He was appointed executive vice-president of Crown Forest Industries on his return to Canada in 1983. In 1984 he was given the added responsibility of chief operating officer and became a director of the company.
