SICK man has charge dropped

PA Auckland An A.I.D.S. sufferer, Peter Joseph Lenart, had a charge of drug smuggling against him dropped in an Auckland court yesterday when the Judge was given hospital records showing Lenart did not have long to live. Lenart, aged 38, was found not fit to face a charge of importing phenocyclidine, also known as angel dust He was denied suppression of his name. Judge Cadenhead, in the District Court at Otahuhu, was given hospital records showing Lenart was not expected to live long. Lenart had been in isolation at Auckland Hospital since arriving on a flight from Los Angeles last month.

He admitted having the disease after being stopped by Customs officers.
