Soldiers learning Spanish
PA Wellington Twelve New Zealand soldiers are learning Spanish so that they can teach other servicemen in the Sinai Desert on the Israel-Egypt border. The men will make up the third New Zealand training-assistance team to be sent to join the multi-national Sinai peace-keeping force. They will teach logistics, driver training, and operations management to soldiers from other countries participating in the force.
A two-week Spanish language course at Wellington Polytechnic will help them communicate with Colombian and Uruguayan soldiers.
