Hunt suffers setback

NZPA-Reuter Madrid Geoff Hunt’s squash comeback suffered an early setback yesterday when he lost in the second round of the Spanish Open qualifying competition. Sweden’s Bjorn Armstrong beat the 39-year-old former world No. 1 from Australia, 4-9, 9-0, 5-9, 9-3, 9-1. Hunt was playing his

first big tournament since retiring with back trouble soon after winning the British Open championship for a record eighth time in 1981. The defeat cost Hunt a clash against Jahangir Khan, of Pakistan, who took over as the dominant force in the sport after losing to the Australian in that 1981 final. They were due to meet in the first round proper today.
