UNIVERSITY OF ? • AUCKLAND A CHAIR IN CLASSICS AND ANCIENT HISTORY THIS position ls an established Chair in the Department of Classics and Ancient History, and will carry with it the Headship of the Department for an Initial period of 5 years. It is expected that the person appointed (who is expected to nave advanced academic qualifications in some aspect of Classics or Ancient History), will provide academic leadership, influence the development of appropriate teaching programmes and stimulate research activities within the Department Courses are offered for the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy, and teaching covers Ancient History, Classical Studies, Greek and Latin. Commencing salary will be established within the range $NZ62,000 to $77,500 per annum, having regard to the qualifications of the of the candidate concerned. Conditions of Appointment and Method of Application are available from the Assistant Registrar (Academic Appointments), University of Auckland.
