Receiver in data firm
The Christchurch computer firm, Concept Data Systems, formerly Business Computers, Ltd, has gone into receivership. Concept Data, one of the early computer firms set up in Christchurch was an OEM manufacturer, it bought in digital computer equipment and sold it as systems. The company in later times moved into microcomputers, selling Asian clones of the IBM PC. Concept Data had about 20 employers. It recently moved into a new building in Bealey Avenue.
The receivers are Deloitte, Haskins, and Sells. The . Development Finance Corporation is believed to have held a sizeable stake in the company.
