Guilty plea after ruling
A man pleaded guilty in the High Court yesterday after Mr Justice Williamson ruled that a statement made by the accused on drug offences was admissible. His Honour remanded Malcolm Robertson Hurst, aged 23, a beneficiary, in custody to February 13 for sentence on. three charges of supplying homebake morphine, a class B drug. The offences were detected after the police put electronic listening devices in the telephone and rooms of a house in Johns Road, Belfast. Hurst made a statement to Detective Raymond Brownlee but defence counsel, Mr Philip Hall, challenged its admissibility. Mr Graham, Panckhurst appeared for the Crown.
