Bomb squad called
The Army bombdisposal squad was called to the Styx Mill refuse station after two 61b shells were found in the recycling section yesterday afternoon. The shells were unexploded and partly rusted, said a spokesman for the Christchurch police. They are believed to have been found by a staff member at the refuse station about 3 p.m. It was not known who had left the shells, which were
apparently Air Force ones. The bomb-disposal squad removed the shells for further examination, said the spokesman. It could not be determined last evening whether the shells were regarded as live.
