Act 8 delayed by fault
A generator fault on the container ship Act 8 has delayed her arrival in Lyttelton. The Act 8 was to have arrived from Wellington yesterday to collect cargo. Another container ship. Resolution Bay, arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Port Chalmers to collect much of Act B’s cargo. The faulty generator meant the Act 8 was unable to lift her full complement of cargo. It probably could not be repaired until she returned to Europe, said a spokesman for the agent, P. and 0. .. He said that the Act 8 would arrived at Lyttelton on Friday to collect a limited amount of general cargo. ARRIVALS Resolution Bay (9.30 p.m.), 43,995, Dunedin, (P and O).
