Butchers’ lambs sell strongly

A small yarding of butchers* lambs sold strongly at the Addington market yesterday. Butchers showed keen interest in good-cutting heavy lambs and several lines sold at $2B to $3O, with odd pens reaching $36.80. Prices fluctuated in a small offering of adult sheep and the beef market remained very quiet Prime lambs A smaller yarding and the introduction of price premiums by processing companies contributed to a very sound prime lamb market Heavy butchers’ lambs In particular sold very well and a pen of exceptional ram lambs sold at $36.80. Other good quality butchers’ stock fetched $25 to $33 white the bulk of the yarding made $l9 to $24. The yarding totalled 776 lambs, well down on last week’s 1318.
