Bradburn’s century in vain
PA Morrinsville Grant Bradburn’s maiden Shell Trophy century could not disrupt' Central Districts’ march to victory in the Shell Trophy cricket match at Morrinsville yesterday. Central lost only two wickets chasing 94 to win, reaching its target with more than an hour-and-a-half to spare to re-estab-lish itself at the top of the series points table.
Northern Districts, following on after scoring 198 in answer to Central Districts’ first innings of 368 for three declared,
was all out in its second innings for 263. ......... Bradburn applied himself to the task of building the score and, in spite of his lack of experience at the top of the order, showed ample confidence. He waited patiently for the hittable ball and drove strongly on either side of the wicket. His 104, which took 296 minutes, included 16 fours.
