Bradburn blossoms

PA Morrinsville Grant Bradburn blossomed as an opener as Northern Districts made up lost ground after following on on the second day of its Shell Trophy cricket match against Central Districts at Morrinsville today. Bradburn was 79 not out and Northern was 155 for four at stumps in its second innings after being dismissed for 198, replying to Central’s first innings of 368 for three declared. Sixteen more runs were needed to make Central bat again. A first-wicket partnership of 87 between Bradburn and Lindsay Crocker

in the second innings completely dwarfed Northern’s previous best start in the Shell Trophy this season — 15 against Wellington at the Basin Reserve. CENTRAL DISTRICTS First innings 368/3 dec.
