Test in Christchurch
Something must have been lost in the translation of a New Zealand Press Association report from Toulouse, published yesterday, in regard to the French rugby league team’s southern tour this year.
The French Rugby League Federation announced that its itinerary in Australia, Papua New Guina ,and New Zealand had been drastically
shortened from 10 weeks to one month. In doing so, it was reported to have scheduled its one test against the Kiwis for Auckland on July 19. However, the New Zealand Rugby League had already allocated the fixture, which doubles as a World Cup qualifier, to Christchurch as part of Canterbury’s seventy-fifth anniversary season.
