PA Hamilton The depleted Great Northern Standardbred select yearling sale lasted 10 minutes at the Claudelands sales complex on Saturday.

Of the 117 lots catalogued only three remained in the sale after northern breeders withdrew the other 114 yearlings in protest at National Bloodstock’s takeover of the standardbred division of Wrightson Bloodstock.

The sale drew a crowd of approximately 100 and $5OOO was enough to purchase the Land GrantReno Gold filly, Egmont Gold.

The two remaining lots, a Sergio HanoverMarlene Dee colt and a Palestine—Heidi Hanover filly were both passed in at $2OOO.
