A man who was admitted to Christchurch Hospital after he was beaten up at a flat in Linwood on Sunday afternoon has refused to lay a complaint with the police. Mr David Ford Gay was kept in hospital for observation on Sunday night and discharged yesterday morning. Mr Gay was beaten by an attacker wielding a

sawn-off shotgun at a flat in England Street, a spokesman for the Christchurch C. 1.8. said yesterday. He was also kicked in the head, back, and stomach. However, the spokesman said that Mr Gay had told the police he did not want to make a complaint or court.
