Petrol rumour denied

A rumoured petrol shortage between Blenheim and Amberley has been denied by the Canterbury Automobile Association.

Last evening an A.A. representative said the association’s Kalkoura office reported there was “a lot of petrol” in Kaikoura. The association was concerned about reports of a shortage of petrol in North Canterbury and Marlborough. It was just a rumour, she said.

Earlier reports had said that holiday travellers were being warned to stock up on petrol before they got to Blenheim as garages from there to Amberley had ran out.
