Triathlon to Canadian
PA Whangarei Paul Grainger, a visitor from Vancouver, Canada, was the surprise winner of yesterday’s annual Bay of Islands triathlon at Waitangi. He completed the I.skmswim, 40km cycle ride and 10km run in 2hr smin 56s to beat the pre-race favourite, Glen Davies, of Auckland, by 3min 16s. Third place went to Warren Ross, of Auckland. A New Zealand representative, Sue Smith of Auckland, was a runaway winner of the women’s event She scored by 16 minutes from a fellow Aucklander, Debbie Chambers.,
