15 rescued at Chch beaches
Fifteen people were rescued at Christchurch beaches at the week-end. Thirteen of the rescues were at Taylors Mistake, where people were pulled from a hole to the right of the clubhouse. Ms Pamela Taylor, of the Canterbury Surf Lifesaving Association, said although the hole was clearly marked with a sign, people still swam in the area. Two people were rescued from Sumner beach — one had been carried out ta sea on a rubber tube. Ms Taylor said, people should- not r take inflatables, such as tubes and air beds, to the beach during north-westerly winds. .
