NZPA-AAP Hobart England was in the box seat at the end of the second day’s play in the match against Tasmania at the T.C.A. Ground in Hobart yesterday. After bundling Tasmania out for 79 in 200 minutes on the second day, England was 73 for one at stumps. The opener, Wilf Slack, was on 37 and James Whitaker, 14. Tasmania ran into a hostile England pace attack yesterday morning on a moist wicket. Neil Foster and Phillip DeFreitas each took four wickets.

Foster was the more hostile taking four for 20 off 16 overs.

DeFreitas, who was loose in his first spell, tightened up later to take four for 44 with the other two wickets falling to Gladstone Small. David Boon was . dismissed for only two.
