Botham to play against P.M.S XI

NZPA-AAP Adelaide The England all-roun-der, lan Botham, is likely to play his next game in Australia against the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra on Tuesday. Botham impressed with his progess in the T.C.A. nets in Hobart yesterday morning, although he felt some discomfort after the work-out. The all-rounder has been carrying a left ribcage muscle injury since the last day of the second test against Australia in Perth. Botham was sidelined from the Adelaide third test but has been having daily attention to the affected area. He had a 50 minute workout with warm-up exercises, dribbling a soccer ball and general body movement work. “Botham batted for 15 minutes and then bowled for just under a quarter of an hour in the T.C.A. nets today,” the England cricket manager, Micky Stewart, said.
