Public Notices HURUNUI COUNTY COUNCIL PROHIBITED FIRE SEASON NOTICE Is hereby given that pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the Hurunul County Counll has declared a PROHIBITED FIRE SEASON over the whole of the county from:Wednesday December 24, 1986 until Monday January 12,1987. During the Prohibited Fire Season it is an offense to light any fires in the open air except Barbecues which may be used provided they are in approved containers and situated in an area served by a domestic water supply, or if placed on concrete slabs provided for the purpose in County Domains and Reserves. These restrictions have been imposed to reduce the risk of fire over the holiday period when the Volunteer Fire Brigades and Council Work Forces will be understrength. Subject to prevailing weather conditions it is likely that the Prohibited Season will be replaced by a Restricted Fire Season from January 13, 1987, to allow for “Safe” fires, such as stubble burn-off, on the issue of the permit. OXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL FIRE RESTRICTION PERSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, public notice Is hereby given that the lighting of fires in the open air through out the County of Oxford without permission is prohibited as from Friday, December 19, 1986 until Monday, January 19, 1987. Permission to light fires in the open air will not be given during periods when a complete prohibition as been apposed on the area by the New Zealand Forest Service. Permission to light fires within a distance of I.skm of the View Hill or Eyrewell and other State forests will be given only by the New Zealand Forest Service. B. A.
