Call to boost prospects
PA Wellington The Railways Corporation should adopt an action programme to boost women’s employment prospects within the corporation, said the Minister of Women’s Affairs, Mrs Hercus. Sixty women railway employees attended a seminar, held in the corporation’s boardroom, addressed by Mrs Hercus. The seminar organiser, Ms Claire Clark, who is a business planning officer with Railways, said the point of the seminar was getting women into management. “There are, as far as we can see, no women managers in Railways,” she said.
