Sound Belt under offer
The leading two-year-old, Sound Belt, is under offer to the Rosehill stable of Paul Sutherland.
Sound Belt, an attractive son of Sound Reason, unbeaten in three races, has been the subject of a number of bids.
The offer, believed to be substantial, was made offered on behalf of Sutherland by Gresior Lodge’s Anton Koolman
after Sound Belt had set a track best of 58, when winning the Wellington - Thoroughbred Juvenile at Otaki on Saturday. Gressier had bought gallopers for Sutherland before with some success. The option for Sutherland on Sound Belt is for 14 days. Meanwhile, the colt has drawn the outside of the 16 runners in the A.B.S.
Juvenile at Awapuni on Saturday. Part-owner and trainer, Kevin Gray, said yesterday that Sound Belt had come through his race without problems, but given the draw, the position of the start, and the presence of the Foxton filly, Heavenly View, the record holder at Trentham, Gray will give serious thought whether to run the colt.
