McDonald 26 not out) beat Lane Walker, Rudkins Computers 35 (P. Harpur 18 not out; G. Robertson 4/5). Gold Band Taxis 111/5 (L. Gianelli 36 retired, Cooper 23 not out; R. Wilson 2/32) beat Prison Officers 97 (Tamatia 26, Rushton 21, R. Wilson 3/ 13); Wrightson N.M.A. 81 (Wilford 22) beat Davis Gelatine 51. Group B: Mount Cook 101/5 (M. Aim 37 retired; R. Falloon 2/7) lost to Christchurch City Council 109/5 (T. Priddy 36 retired; D. Teulon 2/16). Lawrence Anderson and Buddle 113 (P. O’Grady 33 not out, I. Kennedy 24; J. Mander 2/13) beat Peat, Marwick, Mitchell 99 (M. Paget 2/10). Templeton Trades 145/2 (T. Hobbs 37 retired, T. Ward 36 retired) beat Smiley Investments 52 (Baxter 2/5, Hampton 2/7).
Player of the match awards went to Priddy, O’Grady and Hobbs. Thursday competition.— Group C: Firestone 130/5 (L. Bellis 33, D. McFarlane 30, D. Gordon 23; J. Reeves 2/17) beat Amuri Motors 40 (Wilkie 19; S. Sanford 5/14). Christchurch Star 79/5 (S. Baker 38 retired) lost to N.Z.A.E.I. 111/3 (P. Dewar 35 retired, I. McChesney 24). Cowdy and Co. 181 (A. Couil 37 retired, R. Page 35 retired, Lee 35 retired, S. Tillev 29) beat G. L. Bowron 69. Player of the match awards were won by Sanford, Baker and Couil. Group D:
Deloitte, Haskins and Sells 80 (R. West 34; J. Blatchford 3/7, N. Dew 2/2) lost to Advanced Security Alarms 127/6 (T. Turner 34, C. Cantwell 37, Blatchford 25). The Press 143/5 (R. L. Schumacher 32, J. Coffey 30, D. Leggat 27) beat Fletcher Steel 97 (E. Eddy 24; J. Hampton 3/10). M.E.D. 76 (Butt 34; K. Stagg 3/12) lost to Sandvik 162.
