Fletcher set to leave DB

PA Auckland The managing director of Dominion Breweries, Mr Jim Fletcher, has sent his staff a note saying he is considering leaving the company. The message follows speculation that Mr Fletcher had stepped down. In a memo to DB’s general manager, Mr Fletcher says his five year commitment to the board of DB was nearly up.

“Naturally, I have been considering my personal future,” he said. “I have

not resigned and I am still managing director. However, there is the possiblity that I will resign.”

Mr Fletcher says that while he is considering his future he will be on holiday. “DB is now poised for the next leap forward, and that is likely to involve a partnership with Magnum. While I believe a Magnum-DB tie-up to be in DB’s long-term interest, I have to make the decision whether I wish to be part of it,” he said.
