Disabled children to visit U.S.
Air New Zealand’s Koru Care Charitable Trust will take 24 disabled children to the United States this evening. The trip is the culmination of many months of hard work by the trust members, raising funds to send the children, aged from six to 16, and their 13 escorts. The tour leader, Mrs Wilma Gillian, said most of the children were of Christchurch. They have been nomin-
ated by the cancer and leukaemia support group, HOPE, the Crippled Children Society, and the Canterbury Hospital Board. They will go to Los Angeles and San Diego for 11 days. Highlights of the trip will include visiting Disneyland and Universal Studios and starring on a San Diego television show. The group will be accompanied by a registered nurse and 12 Christchurch Air New Zealand staff members.
