Barbie is still the queen of the doll set, but her pre-eminence is under challenge. An upstart, a punked-out band leader named Jem has soared to tenth spot in October on the toy hit parade, a monthly ranking of U.S. toys by retail sales. Barbie clung to number three, behind G.I.
